User's notes

Stewing on this Thelymitra. Superficially similar to T simulata, but flower considerably larger, and leaf far too broad and fleshy. Possibly T alpina, or a hybrid between alpina and simulata? Constriction at base of post-anther lobe very like alpina, but flower not quite large enough, and not finding any records with spots. Thoughts welcomed! In a colony of several similar plants - will check back on Monday when whether favourable for open flowers.

It would be T.simulata or T. x truncata, T.alpina lacks the spots, would be a bit larger, and should occur at higher altitude. i reckon T.simulata, you've had a few records of it out this way. Column is also the wrong shape for T.alpina, Thelymitra alpina (Mountain Sun Orchid) is what that species should look liked.

@Tapirlord I would generally agree with T simulata, but the leaf is wrong for that species, which has a slender leaf - this is broad. Not T alpina then, but a hybrid, perhaps?
