The very glaucous-coloured leaves, and the packing bracts, that collectively produce a very distinct texture over the flower spike, as shown in this specimen, strongly indicates X. resinosa. X. minor bracts are typically rougher in texture than that shown in this image, and exhibit green leaves.
Not *Isolepis levynsiana* which has flattened spikelets . Prefer to have magnified visual knowledge of the seeds to confirm identifications of species in this group of multiple *Isolepis* spp. which have similar gross (unmagnified) appearances, looking like this plant in these three photographs, eg. including *Isolepis inundata* and so on .
